Code of Conduct
Purpose & Mission
The Community of Cardboard's mission is to provide a safe space for all people to collaborate, learn, grow, and play together. Our code of conduct applies to our council, moderation team & featured voices hereafter referred to as members. This code of conduct is in place to ensure that we are lifting up people who align with our core values, beliefs, and to maintain a positive environment and experience in all Community of Cardboard, hereafter referred to as "the community", spaces.
The community members work proactively to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels safe, regardless of sex, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disability, physical appearance, body size, age, or religion.
Members will moderate their channels, such as social media or forums. Members do not tolerate offensive expression and language, harassment, discrimination, violence and competitive dishonesty.
Members encourage bystanders and spectators to immediately report any abuse they witness.
Conflict resolution and consequences
Upon discovery of any member committing a violation of the Code of Conduct, the community officials may, without limitation of their authority, review all data and evidence and issue consequences. The community officials can also be called upon to assist in conflicts among community members.
A member may not disclose any confidential information provided by the community officials or any affiliate, by any method of communication, including all social media channels. Additionally if a member reports any incident to the community officials, their report will be kept confidential.
The community is here to support members in maintaining their spaces in accordance with the Code of Conduct. The community can provide advice, moderation, and other assistance as required to members.
Code of Conduct
In the Community of Cardboard we agree to the following code in an effort to maintain a safe and inclusive online environment for all people regardless of sex, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disability, physical appearance, body size, age, or religion.
We do not use language or expressions that are insulting or mocking.
We do not use language or expressions that insult anyone personally or anyone based on sex, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disability, physical appearance, body size, age, or religion.
We do not use hate speech.
We do not use game names or handles, nicknames, team names or anything else that is offensive or harmful.
Harassment is forbidden. Harassment is defined as hostile acts intended to isolate a person or affect the dignity of a person.
We do not use words or actions that make a person uncomfortable including rumors, spam, or repeated acts of unsolicited contact
Unwelcome physical contact is forbidden.
Sexual harassment is forbidden. Sexual harassment is defined as unwelcome sexual advances. The assessment is based on whether a reasonable person would regard the conduct as undesirable or offensive. There is zero tolerance for any sexual threats or coercion or the promise of advantages in exchange for sexual favors.
We do not discriminate against people for any reason. We do not refer to people, singularly or in a group, using contemptuous, discriminatory, or denigratory words or actions on account of race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, ability status, gender identity, language, religion, political opinion, or any other opinion, sexual orientation, or any other reason.
We do not use violent language or actions. We do not physically threaten or verbally threaten other people.
We do not play unfairly. Playing unfairly is defined as cheating, hacking, pre-arranging losses or wins, sending or receiving signals from other persons, and using cheating devices.
We do not accept bribes.
We do believe in growth and the ability to learn and change as a person. While the failure to follow this Code of Conduct will result in consequences up to removal as a member of the community, no consequence is considered lifelong. Any member can be readmitted to the community under the consideration of the community officials.
